Overview
The College Library is a central academic resource that supports the teaching, learning, and research activities of students and faculty. With a rich and continuously expanding collection of print and digital resources, the library is committed to providing inclusive, technology-enabled, and secure access to information.
The college has a well-stocked library. The library has a collection of over 35,000 books including Book Bank. The Library users have been able to enlighten themselves by going through the newly added books. At present the library is subscribing 44 magazines/journals and 12 newspapers in English and Hindi languages in different areas of interest for its readers.
The library with its open rack system, web centre and spacious reading room for consultation purposes provides an atmosphere conducive to study. A competent and friendly library staff guides and counsels the students regarding books and the library facilities. Students are encouraged to become regular and responsible users of the library. The web centre is for accessing E-resources available through N-LIST and DULS (Delhi University Library System), for the students and faculty members. The students and faculty can access N-LIST through remote login access also. The User Id and Password is given by the library.

Library Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
Open: All working days.
Closed: Holidays as notified by the college.
Reading Room: Fully air-conditioned and accessible during library hours.
Digital Library and E-Resources
OPAC Facility:
The Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC), available through the Libsys software package, enables easy and efficient search of library holdings.
One Nation One Subscription (ONOS):
The College Library is a member of the One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) portal, providing access to national and international journals through a subscription coordinated by the Information and Library Network (INFLIBNET) Centre, an autonomous inter-university centre of the University Grants Commission (UGC), Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
Turnitin Software:
The library provides access to Turnitin plagiarism detection software for checking research publications of scholars, helping enhance the quality and integrity of academic research. This initiative is supported by MHRD, INFLIBNET, and UGC.
Delhi University Library (DU Library)
In addition to the college library, students and faculty have access to the Delhi University Library System (DULS), one of the largest academic library networks in India. Through the DU eLibrary App, users can access over 84,000 eBooks, 1.4 million open-access resources, e-journals, and expert talks from reputed publishers such as Springer, Cambridge, and Taylor & Francis. The platform supports anytime, anywhere learning with features like advanced search, personalized reading lists, full-text downloads, and offline access, significantly enhancing academic and research activities.
E-resource Centre
The library has an E-resource centre/e-library to facilitate the students where they can browse/use the internet, and access all e-resources subscribed by Delhi University Library System and UGC Info-net resources. Further, OPAC can also be accessed from the same. Using this computerized catalogue or OPAC the Library users may search and find the available resources by Title, Author, Publisher, Subject heading, Keywords, etc.

A large number of Electronic Resources are available for access through Delhi University Library System. It includes the Reference Sources, Bibliographic Sources, Statistical Sources, and Full Text Sources.
N-list
The MHRD has formed e-ShodhSindhu merging three consortia initiatives, namely UGC-INFONET Digital Library Consortium, NLIST and INDEST-AICTE Consortium.
Universities of Delhi and colleges are covered under 12(B) and 2(f) Sections of the UGC Act. Maitreyi College has subscribed the NLIST database and with user ID and Password students and faculty can access the consortium/e-resources in the college wide area network as well as at their respective homes.
Aims and Objectives

Develop a formidable collection of e-journals, e-journal archives and e-books on perpetual access basis;

Monitor and promote usage of e-resources in member universities, colleges and technical institutions in India through awareness and training programmes;

Provide access to subscription-based scholarly information (e-books and e-journals) to all educational institutions;

Provide access to scholarly content available in open access through subject portals and subject gateways;

Bridge digital divide and move towards an information-rich society;

Provide access to selected e-resources to additional institutions including open universities and MHRD-funded institutions that are not covered under existing consortia;

Take-up additional activities and services that require collaborative platform and are not being performed by existing Consortia; and

CCTV Surveillance:
To strengthen library security and prevent theft of books and students’ belongings, three (04) CCTV cameras have been installed in the library premises.

An Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) ensures continued library services during power outages.

New Arrivals:
A list of newly acquired books and journals is published monthly on the college website.
Display of New Arrivals:
The library also features a dedicated “New Arrivals” display section, showcasing the latest additions to the collection. This encourages readers to explore new titles and remain updated with current academic materials.
Newspaper Clipping Service:
The library maintains a Newspaper Clipping Service, compiling relevant articles, notices, and educational updates from major newspapers. This service helps students and faculty stay informed about current affairs, research developments, and educational news.
Suggestion Box:
A dedicated suggestion box is available to receive feedback and suggestions from students.
