Department of Political Science
The Department of Political Science was established in 1993 with the introduction of the B.A. Programme course. In 2014, the college expanded its academic offerings by introducing the B.A. (Hons.) Political Science programme.
The Department offers a comprehensive range of courses under the undergraduate curriculum, including Discipline Specific Core (DSC) courses, Discipline Specific Elective (DSE) courses, and Interdisciplinary courses. Faculty members also contribute to teaching Generic Electives (GE), Skill Enhancement Courses (SEC), and Value Addition Courses (VAC) for students across disciplines. The undergraduate programme is aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) and provides students with multiple entry and exit options, ensuring flexibility in their academic journey.
The Department is supported by a team of highly qualified and dedicated faculty members who actively mentor and guide students in their academic and professional development. Students are encouraged to participate in seminars, debates, lectures, quizzes, and other academic and co-curricular activities organized by the Department's student society, Siddhant – The Political Science Society.
To promote academic excellence and intellectual engagement, the Department regularly organizes national and international seminars, conferences, workshops, and invited lectures. These initiatives provide students and faculty members with opportunities to interact with distinguished scholars, policymakers, and practitioners from diverse fields.
