A Fashion Modelling and Choreography Workshop

A Fashion Modelling and Choreography Workshop was successfully organized by the Fashionnaire Society on 4th February 2026.

The workshop was conducted by Mr. Ashish Dhakad, Director, Icon India, a distinguished professional in the modelling industry. Mr. Dhakad elaborated on the concept of modelling, describing it as a professional field involving brand representation, runway walks, print campaigns, and participation in beauty pageants. He discussed various types of modelling, including commercial modelling and print modelling, thereby providing clarity about diverse career pathways within the industry.

He further outlined five essential factors required to build a successful modelling career: Hard work, Time commitment, Support system, Financial investment, and Professional networking (contacts). He emphasized that consistency, discipline, and dedication are critical determinants of long-term success. The speaker also addressed prevalent myths and misconceptions surrounding the modelling profession. This discussion played an important role in dispelling social stereotypes and fostering informed awareness among students. He also spoke about potential challenges and risks in the industry but reassured students that self-confidence, integrity, and perseverance can help overcome obstacles and achieve professional growth. The workshop also highlighted alternative career opportunities such as brand collaborations, pageantry, modelling assignments, and roles in film and entertainment sectors.

A practical session formed an integral part of the workshop. Mr. Dhakad demonstrated various facial expressions—such as smiling, intense, and confident looks—and explained techniques to control expressions through facial muscle coordination. He also conducted hands-on training in ramp walking, posture alignment, posing techniques, body language, and maintaining composure while walking confidently on the runway.

Overall, the workshop proved to be highly informative, interactive, and enriching. It provided students with valuable industry insights, practical skill development, and enhanced confidence, thereby contributing meaningfully to their professional orientation in the field of fashion and modelling.
